Tip: Ctrl + Enter (⌘ + Enter on Mac) runs it, from the list or from the page.

How it works

  1. Start from 24 common instruments, or keep only the ones your class studies.
  2. Spin, then name its family: strings, woodwind, brass, percussion or keyboard.
  3. Turn on “Remove winner” to cover every instrument once.

What people use it for

  • Music class

Spin an instrument and play a recording of it for students to describe.

  • Band game

Each friend spins the instrument they “play” in your imaginary band.

  • What to learn

Shortlist the instruments you'd like to try and let the wheel pick.

Questions

Which instrument is easiest to learn?
It depends on the person. Ukulele, keyboard and harmonica are often suggested for beginners; spin from those if you want a quick start.
Can I add instruments?
Yes. Add any instrument, one per line; the list is saved on this device.
