Planet Wheel

Spin for a random planet — for a science quiz, a report assignment or a “name one fact” game.

Tip: Ctrl + Enter (⌘ + Enter on Mac) runs it, from the list or from the page.

How it works

  1. Keep the 8 planets, or add Pluto with the With Pluto preset.
  2. Spin and name one fact about the planet it lands on.
  3. Turn on “Remove winner after each spin” to give every planet to a different student.

What people use it for

  • Science class

Assign each group a different planet to present.

  • Quick quiz

Spin, then ask for the planet's position from the Sun.

  • Space party

Each guest gets a planet and makes a paper model.

Questions

Why is Pluto not in the default list?
The International Astronomical Union classified Pluto as a dwarf planet in 2006, so the default list has the eight planets. Use the With Pluto preset to include it.
Are the planets in order?
The default list follows the order from the Sun: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune. The wheel itself spins at random.
