Questions

How are words and characters counted?
A word is any group of letters or digits between spaces, so “well-known” and “don't” each count as one. Characters are counted as you see them: an emoji or an accented letter is one character. Line breaks are not counted.
How is reading time calculated?
Reading time is the word count divided by 238 words per minute, the average silent reading speed of adults. Speaking time uses 150 words per minute, a typical pace for presentations.
Is my text sent anywhere?
No. Everything is counted by your browser. The text is never uploaded, saved or shared.
