CSV Column Reorder and Rename
Open or paste a CSV with a header row, move the columns where you need them, rename them, drop the ones you do not want, and take the result. The file never leaves your browser.
Result
2 rows × 4 columns
Comma-separated
Name,Qty,Price,Notes Widget,4,2.50,"blue, small" Gadget,10,1.20,
How it works
- Paste the CSV or open a file; the separator (comma, semicolon or tab) is detected.
- Use the arrows to move a column, the box to rename it, the checkbox to drop it.
- Check the preview of the first rows.
- Copy the new CSV or download it.
What people use it for
Preparing an import
Put your columns in the order a form, a CRM or a mailing tool expects.
Cleaning an export
Remove the internal ID and notes columns before sharing a file.
Fixing headers
Rename “Qty” to “Quantity” without opening a spreadsheet.
Questions
- Is my file uploaded?
- No. The file is read and rewritten in your browser tab. Nothing is sent, stored or put in a link.
- Are cells changed?
- No. Values are copied as they are, only the order, the names and the kept columns change. Cells that contain the separator, a quote or a line break are put between quotes, as the CSV format (RFC 4180) requires. Quotes inside a cell are doubled.
- What about formulas?
- A cell beginning with =, +, - or @ stays exactly as it was. A spreadsheet may read it as a formula when you open the file, as it did in the original, so only open files you trust.
- What are the limits?
- 300,000 characters, 50,000 rows and 200 columns. A row shorter than the header gets empty cells; a row longer than the header loses its extra cells, and a message tells you how many rows are concerned. The first row is always the header.
