Reorder Point Calculator
Running out costs more than a late order. Paste your stock list and see which items have already passed their reorder point, which will within a week and how many to order.

How it works
- Paste or type one item per line: name, stock on hand, use per day, lead time in days, and optionally the pack size.
- Set a safety margin in days and how many days of use an order should cover.
- Read the list, most urgent first: order now, within a week, fine, or no use.
- Copy the order list and send it to your supplier.
What people use it for
A small shop or café
Decide on Monday what to order before the delivery cut-off, instead of finding the shelf empty.
A workshop or lab
Keep consumables such as screws, filters or reagents above the level that your supplier's lead time requires.
Events and clubs
Work out when to restock drinks, kits or supplies that run down at a steady rate.
Questions
- How is the reorder point calculated?
- Daily use × (lead time + safety days). An item with 10 in stock, 2 used per day, a 4-day lead time and 2 safety days has a reorder point of 12, so it is already due. “Order now” means stock is at or below that point; “within a week” means it will reach it within 7 days of use.
- How is the quantity to order chosen?
- Enough to cover the lead time, the safety days and the days to cover you set, minus what you hold, rounded up to a whole pack. For 10 in stock, 2 per day, 4 + 2 days and 30 days to cover, that is 2 × 36 − 10 = 62. Only items marked order now or within a week get a quantity.
- What does this simple model ignore?
- It assumes steady daily use. Seasons, promotions, minimum order values, shelf life and supplier delays are not modelled, and use is not averaged from your history: enter the figure you trust. Treat the result as a prompt to check, not as an instruction.
- What input is accepted?
- Commas, semicolons or tabs, and a decimal comma such as 10,5. A first line with a header is skipped, and rows with a missing name or a figure that is not a number (or below 0) are listed with the reason. Up to 2,000 items are read; the 200 most urgent are shown and the copied order list has them all. Nothing is uploaded.
