Age Calculator
Enter a birth date and see exactly how old someone is today — or on any other date you choose.
Exact age
…
How it works
- Pick the date of birth.
- Leave “Age as of” on today’s date, or change it to find someone’s age on a past or future day.
- Read the exact age in years, months and days, the same age as a total of months, weeks and days, and how many days remain until the next birthday.
What people use it for
Forms and applications
Check an exact age for an application, a school cutoff date or an age-restricted sign-up.
Birthdays and milestones
See how many days are left until the next birthday, or when someone turns 10,000 days old.
Babies and pets
Track a baby’s or a puppy’s age in months and weeks, the way doctors and vets count it.
Questions
- How is the exact age calculated?
- The calculator counts the whole years and months since the birth date, then the days left over. When the birth day doesn’t exist in a month (the 31st, for example), the last day of that month counts as the monthly anniversary.
- What if someone was born on February 29?
- In years without a February 29, the birthday is counted on February 28. So a person born on February 29, 2000 turned 1 on February 28, 2001, and the countdown to the next birthday follows the same rule.
- Does the time zone change the result?
- No. Only calendar dates are used, never clock times, so daylight saving time and time zones can’t shift the result by a day. “Today” is the date shown on your device.
