Days Between Dates Calculator
Pick a start date and an end date to see how many days, weeks and months separate them.
Days between the dates
…
How it works
- Choose the start date and the end date. If the end date comes first, the calculator still counts the gap and tells you.
- Tick “Include end date” to count both the first and the last day — for example, a trip or an event that lasts the whole period.
- Tick “Business days only” to count Monday to Friday and skip weekends.
- Read the total in days, in weeks and days, and in years, months and days.
What people use it for
Deadlines and notice periods
Count the working days left before a deadline, a delivery date or the end of a notice period.
Trips and events
Count the days of a vacation or a hotel stay, including both the arrival and departure days if you need to.
Projects and contracts
Measure how long a project, a lease or a subscription lasted, in months and days.
Questions
- Is the end date included?
- Not by default: from Monday to Tuesday is 1 day. Tick “Include end date” to count both days, which adds one day to the total (Monday to Tuesday becomes 2 days).
- Are public holidays excluded from business days?
- No. Business days are simply Monday to Friday. Holidays depend on the country, state and employer, so subtract any that fall in your period yourself.
- How are months counted when they have different lengths?
- Whole months are counted from the start date’s day; if that day doesn’t exist in a month, the month’s last day is used. January 31 to February 28, 2025 is therefore exactly 1 month.
